An Attorney That Provides You With Personal Attention From Beginning To End!

John has been an NYS licensed attorney since 1997. John’s practice is focused on residential and commercial real estate transactions, as well as helping a family after the death of a loved one to navigate the surrogate’s court in probate and administration proceedings. In addition to being an attorney, John M. Crane, Esq. is a former adjunct professor at Westchester Community College, as well as a former Village Trustee in the Village of Port Chester, where he was twice elected, the second time as the highest vote-getter of all candidates!

After John purchased his first home while in law school, saw his attorney arrive late and unprepared, John watched the faces of the other attorneys in the room as his attorney tried to understand the transaction. After the other attorney gave John a list of checks he needed, because his attorney could not figure it out, his attorney handed him a pile of unorganized papers and said: “this is your closing package”. John was a victim of a shoddy attorney and he still remembers how that felt. He has also heard of real estate attorneys missing deadlines and having their clients lose a down payment (typically $50,000 or more).

With the average property in Manhattan now exceeding $1,000,000, a small mistake can result in a major financial loss. After 20 years and more than 2,000 closings, we understand everything that goes into ensuring a smooth transaction. I realized that busy professionals and entrepreneurs needed a way to focus on what they do best while still being able to successfully achieve their real estate investment goals. I challenged my staff to help me develop a system that provided my clients with the customer service of a fine dining restaurant and the highest level of legal expertise, while ensuring that mistakes did not happen!

Our Platinum Property Transfer System permits entrepreneurs and busy professionals to actually profit from utilizing our services. I have had a past surgeon that gave me power of attorney and was able to earn much more than he paid our firm by being able to defer the questions of the Realtor, Loan Officer and other third parties to me as his single point of contact. Likewise, I was able to save several clients at least double the fee of my legal services by saving them the airfare from Israel, India, and Japan, as well as NYC hotel charges, and closing by Power of Attorney. These clients were able to remain overseas and still have their real estate investment objectives fulfilled, at a cost that was actually less than if they had traveled to the United States themselves.

Our firm is perfect for clients that need the experience of a real estate attorney that has personally closed over 2,000 transactions and whose practice is focused on real estate. We provide a premium level of service that is designed to enable professionals and entrepreneurs to do what they do best and minimize their involvement and time spent in a real estate transaction that can be delegated to a law firm with the specific expertise to manage the transaction.

Practice Areas:
  • Real Estate Transactions

I have represented, buyers, sellers, banks, private lenders, cooperative corporations, and investors at over 2,000 residential and commercial closings since 1997, ranging from a studio apartment to a 50 unit apartment building.

  • Civil Litigation

I work with a team of excellent lawyers, including a research specialist and trial attorney when needed to ensure that my clients receive the expertise of a huge law firm and the personal service that only I can provide.

  • Foreclosure Defense

Practice limited to defending individuals threatened with the loss of their home.

  • Probate

For clients dealing with the loss of a family member, I help you resolve the sale of property while dealing with the probate court so you can focus on healing and remembering your loved ones, not what papers need to be filed.

  • Business Transactions

Our concierge service is ideal to help you through the administration process by eliminating your anxiety over court documents and the question, “what do I do next?”. We will assist you with all of your legal responsibilities, every step of the way, so that you wind up their affairs in an organized, calm, and dignified manner. We have helped many clients list homes for sale with a Realtor, donate clothes and furniture to charities of choice, and simply put, focus on the pleasant memories of their loved ones, not on the tremendous burden of weaving your way through the court system and the removal of cartons and cartons of personal belongings.
